Touching softly

This piece was made for the online contest "Healing power of art". I was so enchanted with the soft wool and I decided to make a small rug (or mat, or cushion, you name it) with different textures on it - wool and glass beads, and silver beads.

This mat presents an idea of using art as a healing item. Its irregular pattern resembles mandala – an ancient symbol of Universe. Glass beads and silver stars on the felted surface stimulate nerve endings; give a feeling of tactile meditation.
