Sewing tips #5
Are you making a tie or a narrow belt and need to take it inside out, but the pencil will not fit inside? The piece is too narrow and both ends are open? There is a trick you can use!
Take a safety pin, small enough to go through the opening. Attach a pin at the seam allowance on one end and lead the pin inside the opening.
Keep moving the pin inside, gathering the tie as you go, as you do while pulling elastic through the belt.
Keep leading the pin inside the tie, until it will reach the end and you will see it at the other side.
Keep pulling the pin, so the end attached to the pin will show and finally you will turn the piece inside out.
Remove the pin, press the tie flat and it is ready!
